50-minute, one-on-one sessions for people navigating a range of issues, including grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, & more. Our clinicians utilize a variety of modalities, including behavioral, person-centered, narrative, & psychodynamic; see our staff bios for specialties.

50-minute-sessions for couples who want to improve communication, strengthen connection, navigate conflict, or even learn to separate amicably.

50-minute sessions for the entire family. Children and parents all function within a family system. What affects one member will affect the entire system. Family therapy is ideal for families navigating conflict, separation, major life transitions, behavioral issues, and more.

50-minute, one-on-one sessions for children ages 4-12. Our therapists recognize play as a child’s natural language. We use a range of play therapy approaches and tailor sessions to meet the individual treatment needs of each client.

Specialized Offerings

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy is a specialized type of exposure therapy most commonly used to treat PTSD & other forms of trauma. EMDR sessions may be longer than 50 minutes, depending on the clinician and structure. EMDR may be used in tandem with traditional talk therapy sessions. Brainspotting is a specialized, “bottom-up”, body focused therapy most commonly used to treat PTSD & other forms of trauma through the location and processing of “brainspots”. See our staff bios or give the front office a call to connect with a brainspotting therapist.

A Substance Use Evaluation is a one-time, 55-minute, structured evaluation to determine the presence and severity of a substance use disorder in a client. Substance Use Evaluations are frequently court-ordered but are useful for voluntary clients who wish to determine the presence and/or severity of a substance use disorder, and get treatment recommendations. Give the front office a call to schedule a substance use evaluation.

Critical Incident Stress Debriefing is a brief, small group, crisis intervention focused on relieving the effects of trauma in the immediate aftermath. Reach out to our office at contactus@fcsathens.com or 706-549-7755 for more information or to request services.
Fees

$120 is our standard fee, but different insurances will cover different amounts, leading to varying copays. We accept most major insurances, Medicare, and non-traditional Medicare.

For those without insurance, fees are determined on a sliding scale, based on gross annual income.

Outpatient counseling with our MSW interns, for those who are uninsured and cannot afford our sliding fee scale. Subject to availability.
