Have you ever felt an emotional attachment or reaction to a movie, a song or a poem without really understanding why? These experiences seem to somehow tap directly into the “core” of who we are- essentially preverbal and unfiltered.

For these reasons some therapists have begun to recommend cinematherapy, music therapy, and therapeutic readings as an adjunct to traditional therapy.

Help Yourself to staff recommended movies, music and readings. Each recommendation is introduced by an FCS therapist. As you watch, listen or read, be mindful of your thoughts and emotions. Discuss these reactions with friends or by journaling. If you are in therapy, discuss your reactions with your therapist.
