Individual Counseling
Through counseling, individuals are helped to achieve balance
and self-sufficiency in their lives.
Family Counseling
Families with conflicts and stressors are helped to gain skills
in problem-solving and nurturing children.
Couples Counseling
Through counseling, couples are helped to develop greater closeness
and resolve difficult situations in their relationship. In addition,
our services include Premarital Counseling, Marital Enrichment,
and Divorce Counseling.

Are Family Counseling Services
of Athens Staff Licensed?
Family Counseling Services of Athens's staff
are all certified and licensed professionals. They represent
the disciplines of certified addiction specialist, clinical
social work, marriage and family therapy, and professional counseling.
Is Family Counseling Services
of Athens Quality monitored and measured?
Family Counseling Services of Athens believes that care must
be carefully managed internally. We therefore have in place
rigorous Continuous Quality Improvement procedures.
IS WHAT I SAY KEPT CONFIDENTIAL?
Your relationship to your therapist and to the center is a personal
and private matter. On occasion your therapy may be assisted
by requesting information from other professionals with whom
you have had contact. No contact will be made with any outside
person and/or agency without your written permission, except
in the event of danger to self or others. For those who use
insurance there are some additional conditions of confidentiality.
Who refers to Family Counseling
Services of Athens?
Family Counseling Services of Athens accepts referrals from
individuals, physicians, clergy, HMO's, managed-care organizations
and community agencies. However, if a different agency can best
meet a person's needs, we will make a recommendation.
HOW CAN I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
If you are using insurance, first call your company to see if
you need to be pre-authorized. Otherwise call
(706) 549-7755 to make an appointment.
WHAT ARE THE FEES?
Family Counseling Services of Athens charges a standard fee
for professional counseling. We also offer a sliding fee scale
based upon income.
CAN I
USE INSURANCE?
Family Counseling Services of Athens accepts most major insurance
plans and is a provider for local HMO's. If you would like to
use insurance, call your insurance company to ensure that Family
Counseling Services of Athens is listed as a provider and to determine
your mental health coverage (co-pays and number of sessions covered).
Most plans provide at least some coverage for counseling.
HOW ARE PAYMENTS HANDLED?
We ask that you make payment at each session. Please give at least
24 hours notice of cancellation. A charge is made for cancellations
with less than 24 hours notice. Unforeseen emergency situations
will be taken into account. |
