Child Guidance and Parenting

Parenting is a challenge. Many parents may worry if they are doing the "right" thing. At what point does behavior become problematic at home or at school? Family and friends may offer advice or say that it is “just a phase”, but sometimes it is best to seek the advice and guidance of professionals.

The cause of these concerns may be simply a developmental delay or they may be the early signs of undiagnosed learning or behavior problems. On occasion changes in behavior or mood may be the result of changes in the family or even or trauma.

Our child and adolescent counselors provide assessment of emotional and behavioral difficulties and related consultations with parents, schools, and area physicians. In addition, through our Victim Assistance Program and our partnership with The Cottage Sexual Assault and Child Advocacy Center we provide support and assistance for child victims of sexual and physical abuse.

If you have concerns give us a call to schedule a consult with our child Psychologist or one of our child and adolescent counselors.
